Colleges That Change Lives is a unique consortium of smaller, liberal arts colleges with unique programs or approaches to learning. These schools hope to build "the knowledge, character and values of young people by introducing them to a personalized and transformative collegiate experience." This article supports what I see my students. There is definitely a focus on tech jobs and thinking ahead to possible careers. Makes internships, co-ops, and summer jobs even more important!

Berkeley has been requesting letters for the last two years and we will see if the others institute this practice during the upcoming application cycle. It is important to know that the new personal insight questions, in place of personal statements, allow students to share multiple sides of their personality and involvements.
