The latest news from the University of California and letters of recommendation. Berkeley has been requesting letters for the last two years and we will see if the others institute this practice during the upcoming application cycle.  It is important to know that the new personal insight questions, in place of personal statements, allow students to share multiple sides of their personality and involvements.
